Psalm 42:8 – “The Lord is in command of lovingkindness in the daytime; And His song will be with me in the night, A prayer to the God of my life.”
Do you get it?
If the Lord commands the nature of love and kindness throughout all the days.
If He is willing to give our hearts a song to meditate on in the dark of night.
He’s willing to do so, for ALL of our LIVES!
What else do we need?
“As for me, You uphold me in my integrity, And You set me in Your presence forever.”
Upholding us in our “integrity” is to say, that both when we practice integrity and when we fail to, that it is God who holds us up. When we hit the mark and when we miss it. As we turn to Him–He upholds us. As others attack us and try to beat us down–He holds us up!
But he doesn’t just “hold us up” and not just when we “have integrity.”
He takes us–the depressed, doubting, defeated, debilitated, deceitful, delinquent, selves–and puts us in His presence.
And not just for a day, month, or year…
And forever is a very BIG word!
