Psalm 50:15

“Call upon Me in the day of trouble;I shall rescue you, and you will honor Me.”

Dozens of times through these first fifty chapters, again and again and again, “Call on Him, run to Him, look to Him, cry out to Him, pray to Him, turn to Him!”

Do we get the picture?

There WILL be days of trouble. Does anyone doubt that? But as we have continued to see chapter after chapter, cone of the greates promises contained in the Psalms is that as people turns to Him he does stuff.

He rescues, honors, restores, sustains, reconciles, protects, provides for, defends, shows mercy, brings justice, and gives true liberty.

Do we get the picture?

Run to him! His roar is fierce but it brings goodness to all who turn to Him!

Psalm 50:15

“Call upon Me in the day of trouble;I shall rescue you, and you will honor Me.”

One of the most encouraging ideas in these first 50 chapters of the Psalms–without question–has been the degree the writers continue to try to tell us the good news!

  • Trouble is coming?  Call on God!
  • Trouble is upon you? Turn to God!
  • Trouble attempts to injure? God heals!
  • Trouble convicts you? God forgives!
  • Trouble takes life? God restores it!
  • Trouble harms relationships? God reconciles!

Trouble is not harmless…

But God is not passive!

Trouble is hard, but God is stronger!

Yes?
