If there is one thing many parents have noted over the history of time, it is simply that their children love to be read to, from actual books, listening to real stories that come alive as much in the imagination as anywhere else.
But with the advent of the electronic-zombification of our kids, books, and actual story-time have gone out the window. My kids love to sit down on the sofa or bed grab a stack of books and say, “Dad, read this one to me next…”
The purpose of the new Bedtime Classic Masterpiece Theater channel will be dedicated exclusively to re-creating story-telling, with visuals no more sophisticated than the original book’s artwork, a tad additional sound design, and some music.
We want to emotively re-engage your child’s brain, imagination, and emotions as they get to hear these classics over and over.
Making them available online will allow a parent the same convenience as digital movies or video games but perhaps with a touch of old fashioned wonder at a story (prayerfully) that is well told.
We hope they bring hours of wonder to your child’s heart, imagination, and formation. We launch the effort with a classic from Sally Lloyd Jones – The Song In The Stars. Run time is 4:33.
Please enjoy, and share!
