One Week at Camp…Changes You!

Tonight, millions of children will go to bed without a bedtime story from their dad or a goodnight hug from their mom. This seems unfathomable to the McCullough tribe because we look forward to bed time in such a significant way. It’s literally our favorite time of the day many times.

Because 2.7 million kids have a parent behind bars. These kids are more likely to live in poverty, go into foster care, or engage in high-risk behaviors. So much of which is avoidable when parenting provides that stable home. These kids’ only fault is that they were born to the wrong parents.

Fortunately Prison Fellowship is there for them. Reaching out, loving them, and in recent years helping them find God and much improved sense of self and discovering that life can be different for them.

Last year, Angel Tree Christmas campaign delivered a gift and the Gospel to over 290,000 kids. But it doesn’t stop there. Prison Fellowship now extends care for prisoners’ children through their Angel Tree summer camps.

With scholarships to attend an Angel Tree summer camp, children can build relationships with caring camp counselors, hear the Gospel and experience the love of God in the Great Outdoors. If you have fond memories of a summer camp experience, (and I DEFINITELY do) then you can help a child make those same great memories.

Join me in partnering with Prison Fellowship to send 24 kids (one bus load) to camp this summer.
Our family is committed to sending 4 kids… so we only have 20 left to get all of them there!

It’s Who YOU Are! (2016)

I don’t know about you, but it is easy for me to get wrapped up in the daily grind. Headlines, show prep, sales meetings, deadlines, budgets, RELATIONSHIPS, and just about everything else that keeps the daily broadcasts running.

I lose perspective of the power of a platform, not just to inform you of specific information that you are looking for, but to activate you to become the best force for good in our world.

Whether it is to deepen your faith, or desiring to strengthen the nation we live in and love, the information you get from us is vital. But if I’m not asking you to help make the world a better place—what good is it?

Which is why, as I began to reflect back on the things you did this year, I couldn’t help but just be abjectly blown away.

So in 2015 here’s a snapshot of what you accomplished:

In the last twelve months you contributed close to $250k touching just shy of 40,000 individual lives–many of them completely helpless children!

And here’s how it broke down:

You rescued 213 families from the clutches of ISIS in Syria and Iraq.

You helped provide education to 219 children (mostly in 3rd world nations) who could not afford it.

You reconnected parents who are in prison with the children they had abandoned for 1,055 families.

You provided permanent clean water for 1,390 families in two of the poorest nations on earth.

You provided life-saving medicines in earthquake, tsunami, and other natural disaster zones, saving 4,213 lives.

You fed 10,624 people — the overwhelming majority of them children in the third world for an entire year. But you also fed all the homeless people Bowery Mission could pack into their Thanksgiving Day feast this year — supply every single meal they needed.

You provided Bibles for people who are persecuted in places where they can not get a copy for themselves that will touch 15,910 families.

Literally thousands of you got involved and gave amounts ranging from $5 to $6500.

But the point is—you gave.

You got involved.

Why?

I pray very earnestly that it was because YOU saw the needs that resonated with your heart. And you decided you would respond to the challenge to be a solution, instead of someone who ignored the problem.

All in all, other reports will be written about how many stations I’m on or how many listeners I have. But THIS is the report, that warms my heart, because it speaks…

Very powerfully…

To what you are willing to do—to change the world!

Thanks for making it happen, every day, every show, all the time!

Proud to be in the trenches with each of you!
